Earth- Workshop

Due to a concussion, this semester’s work was entirely done by hand. I leaned into it and decided to make my project as low-tech as possible. I designed a space for the creation of playful, simple, tactile rammed earth forms emerge from an under appreciated stretch of the Hudson River. The space for the creation of these objects was made of massive rammed earth walls, that serve as a playful quarry for the creation of the smaller blocks. I created models of these play structures and carved wood stamps for my architectural drawings.
